As I recall, soon after there was a truckers' protest in the U.S., with a convoy headed to Washington, D.C. But, just when it could have made a difference, all of a sudden there was a war started in Ukraine. What a coincidence!
In my book I note that during her testimony before the Public Order Emergency Commission, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland, acknowledged the government of Canada wanted to end the Freedom Convoy protest in Ottawa so that Canada wouldn't "look weak" in anticipation of Canada 'standing up to Russia' when the war in Ukraine began (which it did days after the protest was shut down). So, one reason given for the need for invocation of the Emergencies Act was to make sure Russia knew Canada could be tough (even if the example of toughness was the government being tough on its own citizens).

Writing from Canada here and I am desperate for news of why Richie Allen's show went down. Comments are closed, so my long held contacts are unreachable. I appreciate your interviews and research. Richie is highly educated and a thinslicer - can spot a trend way ahead of the crowd. He puzzled me on arguing with you over certain topics. Where my research matched yours. Otherwise he and I agreed. These topics were all related to one particular group. Anything held over his head? Exhaustion? Lack of support as the Controlled Opposition siphons up the funding after years of his hard work? Caroline?

His Wiki page has been updated by someone with 61,000 edits, the minute it happened. I have found no other info. I had long term contacts in the website comment section, but no personal contact with them. Comments have been turned off for us. He has an app but I do not join most things.

Many truckers were vaccinated but were tired of switching to draconian rules every time they re-entered Canada. The rules did not seem to affect the “Covid” rate.
