This is a bit of a red herring. It is my understanding, that particularly Harvard and Yale catered to an ethnic group known as WASPS (White Anglo-Saxon Protestants). And being a Roman Catholic I have no problem with this because I believe WASP culture promoted values I could agree with. I later came upon the narrative that the SAT score would supplant selection by custom which included heavy weight to intergenerational WASP applicants. Then to goose this disruption to tradition, a Jew named Stanley Kaplan started a test preparation service that included gaining access to SAT questions for his prep courses. So the issue is not affirmative action, it is to get the Jews out of the college admissions altogether, and let the colleges choose on their own even if it means legacy selection. Harvard was started, I believe in 1670, as a divinity school meant to use education as a societal tool to propagate their world view. That should be the role today, in recognition of the school's history, to propagate WASP culture and that means, no Jews, No Catholics, no Muslims, no blacks or Latinos and no LGBTs. I am excluded but have no problem with that. Did I say no Irish or Italians? That too, wouldn't bother me knowing I am living in a society that preserves WASP culture.
