Patreon absurdly accuses me of "dubious claims and unsubstantiated theories regarding COVID-19"—but the real problem may have been my Sen. Gravel and Rep. Kucinich interviews, and promoting Ron Unz
Thank you to all the supportive commenters! By the way, isn't Patreon's language odd? OF COURSE I discuss "claims" about all sorts of issues that are "dubious" to various degrees. That includes official and popular claims as well as unofficial and unpopular ones. "Dubious" just means "doubtful." I certainly hope my audience doesn't just accept everything I say on faith as if it were beyond a shadow of a doubt. Likewise, very little in this world has been fully substantiated. (Least of all the official stories of 9/11, JFK, and so on.) So almost all theories about everything are at least somewhat unsubstantiated.
Rather than picking on this or that theory, a competent editor (unlike the mindless robots at Patreon) would focus on method. Do I speak and write intelligently, interview thoughtful and qualified people, cite reasonably solid sources, listen to the other side of arguments, and so on? (As opposed to blathering ignorantly and whipping up emotions while shedding more heat than light?)
It shouldn't be about what you believe, but how you got there and how reasonably you can discuss your beliefs in thoughtful dialogue with people who hold different beliefs.
And of course even the ignorant hysterical idiots are protected by the First Amendment.
So I immediately subscribed to your substack newsletter then went and deleted my patreon account, I won't continue supporting those traitors of free speech and democracy.
Glad to move to Substack with you Dr. Barrett. Whitney Webb left Patreon for the same reason. I enjoyed and shared your interview with Rep. Kucinich. I still have to hear your Sen. Gravel interview.
Wow! Rough! I read your essays on VT almost daily, but never view videos because they consume too much time. Now, I definitely will never give a penny to Patreon, most of those writers on the alternative press are suspect anyway and in any event I'm usually censored if I attempt to complement a real writer/researcher such as yourself, as they are now doing to VT as well, at least to me. Have you received their death threats yet? Probably not, but my best wishes to you.

Kevin, I'm so annoyed by what Patreon did to you that I cancelled all my Patreon subscriptions and left this message with Patreon:
I protest your censorship of Kevin Barrett. I'm cancelling all Patreon subscriptions until such time as Patreon embraces free speech.
Kevin. I hope Substack remains a free speech zone.
I'm glad you're here!!!
I am happy to subscribe & follow you to substack. Your work is important and a much needed voice in the media Dr. Barrett. Godspeed.

Thanks, Michael! I'm always happy to be mentioned alongside Whitney Webb. She does great work.
