Because (1) an organization claiming to represent all Jews can’t be taken at their word, since they will exclude even large numbers of Jews that don’t agree with them; (2) a large and growing percentage of Jews, particularly among the youth, are now identifying as anti-Zionist; (3) we should generally be on guard against the erasure of individuals and the assigning of blame to all members of a group; and (4) it can be helpful to work with Jews who are against the actions of Israel and the lobby, so we ought to avoid alienating them.

Well, i think it's both. Because his dad played it too close to the vest, after he was killed in 1968, virtually nobody knew for decades that he was on the trail of his brothers' killers.
