In my previous comment on Alan Sabrosky's last guest appearance, I had expressed some skepticism, though I still opposed the bill, that the HR 6090 act passed by the house was really as bad as it seemed, since the final paragraph of the bill says it does not violate the 1st amendment. But I see now, through Cat's remarks and by looking at the bill again, that it does in fact refer to the examples of IHRA remembrance definition, which include "Using the symbols and images associated with classic antisemitism (e.g., claims of Jews killing Jesus or blood libel) to characterize Israel or Israelis." I suppose a nuanced interpretation could argue that the example does allow one to refer to Jews killing Jesus. Just don't use it to characterize Israel! So the bill is clearly contradicting itself claiming not to violate the 1st amendment while at the same time incorporating IHRA examples of antisemitism that forbid criticism of Israel. I emailed and left voicemails for my senators to oppose the bill but let's see what good that does.

From of the perspective of “inside” the U.S., “they” are winning the PR campaign. So, whoever is orchestrating the protests is doing a great job of turning everyone off. In terms of the conquest of America my sense is that the U.S. is relatively easy to take over from the top down but it’s harder to completely conquer. In terms of the 'Jews' killing 'Jesus', I think the word 'jew,' as 'judean' is translated, meant zealot or rebel against the Roman empire and the theocracy/ tax collectors. Jesus didn't exist. As a fictional character in these fictional accounts, he represents the collaborator with Rome that uses the rebels (followers of Judas the Sicariot, leader of the zealots) as the scapegoat and imparts divinity to the Holy Roman Empire. In my previous comment on Alan Sabrosky's last guest appearance, I had expressed some skepticism, though I still opposed the bill, that the HR 6090 act passed by the house was really as bad as it seemed, since the final paragraph of the bill says it does not violate the 1st amendment. But I see now, through Cat's remarks and by looking at the bill again, that it does in fact refer to the examples of IHRA remembrance definition, which include "Using the symbols and images associated with classic antisemitism (e.g., claims of Jews killing Jesus or blood libel) to characterize Israel or Israelis." I suppose a nuanced interpretation could argue that the example does allow one to refer to Jews killing Jesus. Just don't use it to characterize Israel! So the bill is clearly contradicting itself claiming not to violate the 1st amendment while at the same time incorporating IHRA examples of antisemitism that forbid criticism of Israel. I emailed and left voicemails for my senators to oppose the bill but let's see what good that does.
The people who wrote the IHRA definition probably don't want the remaining Christians in the post-Christian West to look too closely at Jewish attitudes toward Jesus and his teachings, and relate that to the Jewish genocide of the Christians (and Muslims) in Palestine.
