Some argue that women competing in anything—let alone boxing—is manly. Imane has a chromosomal disorder that happens to lend her an advantage. How is this different from Usain Bolt's genetic advantage? Or Phillipp's, the swimmer? Or Miguel Indurain, the Spanish cyclist, who had an unusually low heart rate? Or the genetic advantage the average powerlifter would have over men or women of slimmer build? Worth pointing out that Khalief has been beaten 9 times out of 50 by uncontestedly biological women. And for the record, the Italian Carini's behaviour was literally disgraceful, if it wasn't exactly out of character for her.
While I agree with Cat McGuire about most things, including Palestine, Israel, gender-bending and the vaccines, she seems to be extraordinarily ignorant about America's injustice system. While she may be glad that Louisiana is going to cut off the nuts of poor men with no real representation accused of child abuse by a vindictive spouse or girlfriend, we can be sure that none of Epstein's clients will face this same penalty.
First, Louisiana has one of the very worst prisons in America, at Angola. While poor men, especially black men, are represented by these useless public pretenders, and their ruthless masters, the county persecutors, the wealthy men, who are mostly child rapists, are rarely accused of anything. And if they are charged with a serious crime, they can afford dozens of expensive lawyers, who bring their cases before corrupt judges (who are also some of Epstein's clients).
Until a few years ago, Louisiana, along with the State of Oregon, required only ten of twelve jurors to convict a person in felony cases, which was found to be completely unconstitutional.
perhaps, a able-bodied white woman -- the most privileged group of Americans, doesn't realize for poor men, especially minorities, Louisiana represents the worst their is in our country, and should never be considered an example of justice. Especially for poor, innocent men who face the risk of being castrated by the ruthless government. Or is she saying government is always fair and trustworthy?
Very good points and I agree with all of them. I've actually read accounts of how corrupt the sex offender legal system is - everything from overreach of punishment, snitching someone out wrongfully, and the convictions rarely going after the far greater privileged criminals.
It is similar to how yes, of course I want to see the rich taxed, but the reality is that it's never the catastrophically wealthy who pay. They have a gazillion loopholes. It's the mom-and-pop individual or family that has put in major hard work to get to where they are, say $5-$10 million dollars (not *that* much money compared to the trillionaires who could eat them for lunch), these are the so-call "rich" who really bear the burden of the tax-the-rich outcry.

Yeah, I would have loved to visit friends in Utah, Arizona, and California (like you and Larry) and was considering borrowing a camper van and going for it. But I got sick during the trip which led to various complications, including lack of access to the camper van and lack of stamina to drive it thousands of miles.
Hope you're feeling better, Dr. Barrett. A much different biome of microbes in the Upper Midwest than in northwest Africa. One's immune system can easily be overwhelmed by germs it is no longer 'armed' against.
