I have for decades supported the Palestinian cause, to no avail, as there has never been an elected government of the U.S. who has taken up their cause. And now, the Palestinians with Hamas have won a decisive victory by taking the Israeli IDF off guard. They were looking at their computer screens and AI not their human eyes and ears. So, I hope Scott Ritter is right and this is the moment for a Palestinian state with their own port, their own airport, access to their own rich resources (as I understand). I hope that the wealthy Arab nations hop on board with rebuilding Gaza society. I hope the United States stays out of it. The Jerusalem mosque should not be managed by the Israelis—they have shown themselves to be incompetent at respecting other people’s religious sentiments. And, of course, there will continue to be a “Jewish state” as we all might expect, only more reduced in size.

That’s a lot of ifsss… but this might be the moment.. What else seems to be in the cards is a major break between Islamic countries and the “West” because these protests have shown not so much anti-semitism but anti-Westernism. Gaza will be free, Israel will exist, the U.S. will take its tanks and go home—finally. I hope there will be no war, or no more wars for awhile. Still, the rift is there and It might be a replay of 1453. We failed and we turn away.

Kevin you are so brave and honest to say the silent part out loud. Gilad Atzmon astutely noted, "Jewish power is the power to suppress criticism of Jewish power."
