nothing on al-Zawahiri??

Afghans cast doubt on Kabul killing of Al-Qaeda chief | 2 Aug 2022 | Many Afghans expressed shock or doubt Tuesday that Al-Qaeda's chief had been killed in Kabul by a US drone strike, saying they couldn't believe Ayman Al-Zawahiri had been hiding in their midst. "It's just propaganda," Fahim Shah, 66, a resident of the Afghan capital, told AFP. Late Monday, Joe Biden announced Zawahiri's assassination, saying, "justice has been delivered" to the Egyptian with a 25 million bounty on his head... "We have experienced such propaganda in the past, and there was never anything in it," Shah said. "In reality, I don't think he was killed here.”

Ayman al-Zawahiri 'dead' - Al-Qaeda boss dies from asthma in Afghan mountain hideout, reports claim | 20 Nov 2020 | Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri who took over after the death of Osama bin Laden has reportedly died in Afghanistan. Al-Zawahiri - sometimes dubbed Dr. Death - last appeared in a video message for the group on the anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks on the US. Arab News reports the terrorist, 68, died of natural causes related to asthma citing four sources in Pakistan and Afghanistan... An al-Qaeda translator told Arab News: "He died last week in Ghazni. He died of asthma because he had no formal treatment." A Pakistani security official added: "We believe he is no longer alive. We are firm that he has died of natural causes." Another source close to al-Qaeda said he died earlier this month and a small number of followers attended his funeral in Ghazni. "What we know is that he was having some breathing issues and has passed away somewhere in Afghanistan," they said.

Kevin:: "... the hapless Gutjahr, a more obvious terror suspect than Bin Laden ever was, who obviously needs to be arrested and interrogated. Anybody out there who can rendition him?"

Dylan's "License to Kill":

Now, he’s hell-bent for destruction, he’s afraid and confused

And his brain has been mismanaged with great skill

All he believes are his eyes

And his eyes, they just tell him lies

But there’s a woman on my block

Sitting there in a cold chill

She say who gonna take away his license to kill?

Kevin,

This is another example of your really awesome work in which your skills and talents make it VERY "accessible" to the 8th grade public by using excellent metaphors/comparisons. Like comedy/humor, such metaphors surely pry their way into the minds of most people who might have a chance to read it.

And obviously its an excellent "counter example" when compared to the problematic co-hosts on FFWN who paint you into destructive corners. No destructive corners painted here.

Really great piece...thanks.

PS: We vote by mail here in WA State and just like OR, CO and other states who vote-by-mail, it seems to work really, really well. But, in spite of so much "positive results" research and decades of higher "credible" turnout in these states, you have taken the position that this voting process is problematic. I am interested in researching your research...or...looking into the sources of your opinion. Can you direct me to your background data beyond "opinions"? No rush... Thanks...Peace robin

Thank you for the kind words, Robin. Actually I don't recall opposing mail-in voting. I haven't seen enough evidence to have a strong opinion. Maybe you're confusing me with my guests or FFWN co-hosts? But I do oppose voting machines, and support hand-counted fraud-proof paper ballots.

NO KEVIN...you have DEFINITIVELY STATED...that voting by mail is insecure. Apparently I seem to listen to your shows MORE than you listen to your shows? That does happen... Peace robin

Well, it's less insecure than using a voting machine!

Still looking for hard statistical evidence or reports that make it clear that vote-by-mail [paper ballots] is less reliable and/or more hackable than are the other forms of voting...most notably the "touch-screen w no paper trail" operations. Until then I do hope that you can consider taking a neutral, or more accurately, an agnostic position about "vote-by-mail" because it seems that you have not yet done the needed research...I think?

BTW...what I like in WA State is that the counties send out larger Voter Pamphlets in which are short written positions on all legislative proposals along with short candidate profiles and statements. This allows time to sit down and read through all the proposals and the candidates' bios and positions...in a non-time limited process. After that MY specific ballot is mailed to me fill out and mail. And there is a tracking system because each ballot has a specific identifier on it associated with ONLY me.
