I'm in agreement with Patrick Chenal that the father of 'Jesus' is a clear continuation of the story of Yahweh. But rather than this being a reason to accept them both without criticism, it shows why both need to be rejected. How can Patrick say that the death of Jesus is evil when the purpose of Jesus' incarnation was to suffer and die, so that sins may be forgiven (I'm reciting from memorization in Catholic grade school, HS & college.)
So if the death of Jesus is evil, then God is evil because God required this blood sacrifice from 'his only begotten son' as the only one worthy to be a sacrifice. Millions of others have been tortured and killed but that was what they deserved, as Jesus makes clear about the 'bad thief.' A god requiring sacrifice of a child, and preferring that child over all others put together, is a sociopath. I reject that definition of god, and I don't relinquish the concept of god to the Bible.
In further evidence of why Marcion is wishful thinking, the Sermon on the Mount says:
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets: I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. For truly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter, not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law, until all is accomplished. Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, will be called least in the kingdom of heaven but whosoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
I never forget what a friend told me who spent 10yrs as a Franciscan, After drilling him with questions due to what some Jehovah witness family members were telling me. He said, "Michael put the book down. I know it by heart. It's a question book." It's great listening to Kevin cause of the various guests he has with different perspectives. It helps sharpen my understanding of the Great Spirit. Like you wrote, I too have learned to not relinquish the concept of god to the Bible, As a raised Catholic I have found so much inspiration from listening to different religious and spiritual thinkers.

Thank you for a conversation showing the movement of mind and honest investigation when considering sacred text. All text begins as good or bad. It took a thousand years for the Bible to get ranked as scripture. Probably less time for the old testament but for all I know, a new sacred text is in the making right now. It contains a creation story, laws, leaders, followers, prophecies fulfilled, mercy, resurrection after disaster, and the revelation that love made life worth living.

I found the definition a little conventional. Personally, I see the Bible as an instrument for achieving the New World Order. It is no coincidence that all Abrahamic religions share the same messianism leading to the End Times, Apocalypse or Akhir al Zaman. This eschatological agenda, planned for 2030, is also called the Great Reset. We are getting close to it now, there are just a few details to work out, like WW3, and then the Moshiach, the Mahdi and Jesus will finalize the use of the instrument.

This is no clear path to understanding anything. Best to start with man's higher and lower nature or Divine and animal. Now at least you can understand where the Evil is coming from.

The Jewish word for faith is well in line with the Christian "belief" that there are "truths" that you can only access through "faith".
Personally, I think that a rational definition of faith is that of Nietzsche: "Faith means the will to avoid knowing what is true".
