There is a trade-off between instant access to hospital-level techno-medicine and living and dying with your friends and family.

There is no evidence that any computer device can make people feel less lonely. And Virtual Reality will not help.

In fact there are numerous reports now coming out that people who rely on their devices for companionship are in fact feeling more lonely than ever, which shouldnot be surprising.

People who promote such bandaids to what is a socialization issue are doing it for ulterior motives...

I've seen references to evidence that (1) in-person face-to-face socialization is the only thing that satisfies us, and (2) 8-minute phone calls work https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/02/well/phone-call-happiness-challenge.html

Anything that comes out of the New York Times, I would take with a grain of salt...

Technology simply cannot replace Human interaction, though many tech elites are trying to do just that...

I would say they are tending towards sociopathology as they appear to be adopting the WEF plans for transhumanism, which with the current state of technology makes little sense...

Except that have elderly very infirm relatives who need a LOT of medical care & attention. Children have jobs & can’t stay home & provide care. Have neither the time nor the necessary skills
