Thanks for another great article. A slight quibble with your use of the word Torah (only the first five books of the Old Testament) when referring to the entire Old Testament. The better term to use would be Tanakh, which includes the Torah, but also the prophetic and historic books where most of Yahweh’s genocidal instructions are to be found.

In other words it was for the most part independent of Judaism and Pagan religions. The first bible still survives today - but much of the movement was erased.
